Book report: Students should all choose a third grade or higher chapter book that is also a Reading Counts book. Students should then show me the book for approval. After your child is finished reading the book, s/he should ask me for the book report materials which will then be used to complete the book report at home. Students will be making a story island to aide in learning about narrative elements. The book report is due on September 24th, but I will accept it early if your child wishes to complete it be

All Diagnostic Checkpoints are in the math book (and online). All Diagnostic Checkpoints done in class are graded. The Chapter 1 test is on Thursday. Students will do the practice test in the book on pages 52-53 the night before and turn it in to me the next day. You are welcome to do this early with your child if you wish. Here are the answers to numbers 28, 29, and 30 so that you can help you child prepare.
28. I know that Megan, Jessie, and Mike have three $1 bills, 4 quarters, and 9 dimes. I need to find out if they have at least $4.59.
29. Students need to show that Mike also has 3 quarters and 4 dimes in the picture. Yes, they have enough money.
30. I found the total amount of money the 3 friends have and compared it with $4.59. I know my answer is correct because the friends have $4.90 and $4.90 is greater than $4.59.
