I have a challenge for all my third graders. If anyone can get 75 Reading Counts points by October 12th, I will treat them to a pizza party the following Monday. By getting to 75 points by this day, students are on the path to earning the Reading Counts Spend-the-Night party at the end of the school year.
On the Alien Mystery Reader page to my website, you can see which dates are booked and which are still available for you to sign up to be one of our mystery readers. Once you pick a date that is still available, just send me an email, and I will sign you up.
Book Report: All students have chosen a 3rd grade (if in Mrs. Chamber's or Mrs. Slaughter's reading group) or a 4th grade (if in my reading group) Reading Counts chapter book for the book report. After finishing the book and taking the Reading Counts test, he or she will then receive the book report materials.
Reading: My reading group will be reading Frindle for the first half of the quarter. We will have a vocabulary test over the words in Chapters 10-12 on Friday.
