Spelling Bee: We will have our class spelling bee on December 21st. The top two spellers in our class will then be given words to study over the holiday in order to prepare for the Third Grade Spelling Bee on January 9th at 11:00 in the Blue Room.
Christmas Charity: Rather than exchange a gift with a classmate, our class will be collecting socks and warm hats for the homeless. We are all so blessed with an abundance of clothes, food, and shelter. Please, help in giving at this time of year to those who don't even have a warm spot to sleep in at night. All donations need to be at school by Thursday, December 20 so that they can be delivered. Thank you so much!!!
Xtra Math: Please remember to have your child do Xtra Math Monday though Friday. They will get the best results from doing the practice one time per day. If your child missed one day this week, please have him or her do it on Saturday or Sunday so that he or she is getting five days of practice.
Emelia, Noah, Caroline, Alayna, Jonathan, Dhruv, and Kenniyah have met the second quarter Reading Counts challenge! They will be treated to a pizza party on Monday, December 17th.
Reading: We will finish reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and then watch the movie version. The Chapter 7 Vocabulary Test is Tuesday.

Under the spelling grade on each test is a grade (S, W, N, or U) for their cursive. You can go to www.spellingcity.com for online practice of the grade level spelling words each week. Just go "Find a List" and then for the teacher type in "Brenda Speir." All the lists for the entire year will appear. Just choose the one for this week.
