Monday, May 19th: All fifth grade students will be going to the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum. Students are allowed to visit the gift shop so you may want to send money with your child this day. We will eat lunch in the classroom when we return. Our room mom, Mrs. Turner, is setting up pizza, fruit, and drinks for the children to eat when we return.
Bible: The test is on Friday. Please see the Bible link for the verses for the fourth quarters. ***There are several weeks during the second semester where there is no school on Friday. During those weeks, the Bible test will be on Thursday.
Math for Mrs. Speir's class: We will finish the year by learning some basic algebraic concepts using a program called Hands on Equations. Students will complete algebraic equations in class and at home using the manipulatives that come with the program.
Math for Mrs. Garola's and Mrs. Brown's class: We will complete lessons 11-9 through 11-10. Diagnostic Checkpoint 11C will be on Wednesday. On Thursday students will take the Chapter 11 Test. On Friday we will begin a program called Hands on Equations. We will be using the Hands on Equations through the end of the year.
XtraMath: I am so proud of all the students for how well they are doing with XtraMath and memorizing their math facts. Thirty students have passed all four levels of the three second threshold. Of those 30, thirteen are also finished with all four levels of the two second threshold and are now working on the 1.5 second threshold. Bradley, Kalina, Danielle, and Josh are completely done!!! WAY TO GO!!!!
