Students may bring their yearbooks back to school on Tuesday. We will have a time for all third graders to get together to sign each other's yearbooks.
Tuesday through Friday are half days and non-uniform days. No charge!
End of the year party is on Friday at 11:00. Hope to see you there!
Reading: The accelerated reading group will do post reading activities on Monday. This will be the last day of accelerated reading. If your child has Mrs. Slaughter for reading, then you can go to her website at http://mrsslaughter.weebly.com to find out what they are doing in reading each week. If your child goes to Mrs. Chambers for reading, then you can go to her website at http://mrscchambers.weebly.com to find out what they are doing in reading each week.
Cursive Handwriting: Many students need to slow down so that their cursive is not messy. All words should sit on the line, tall letters should touch the top line, and a, o, and d must be closed.
Language: We will be creating color poems using adjectives.
Spelling: We will learn the words in lesson 35 this week. The test will be on Thursday. You can go to www.spellingcity.com for online practice of the spelling words each week. Just go "Find a List" and then for the teacher type in "SCPS Third Grade." All the lists for the entire year will appear. Just choose the one for this week.
Writing: We are continuing to work on sentence fluency.
Timed Tests: Due to all the special events on Friday, I was unable to have the students take their last multiplication timed test, so we will take that on Monday.
Math: We are in Chapter 11 on multiplying and dividing greater numbers. We will cover lessons 11-14 through 11-15 this week. Diagnostic Checkpoint 11C is on Wednesday, May 25th. The Chapter 11 Test is on Thursday
Science/Social Studies: We will finish up the activities we began last week.
Bible: No verse this week.
