The week will start Monday morning and go through Sunday night. Monday before school, I will check to see how many days were completed the previous week and enter the appropriate grade. Students will receive a parent letter with login and password for www.xtramath.org.
5 sessions complete = 100 homework grade
4 sessions complete = 80 homework grade
3 sessions complete = 60 homework grade
2 sessions complete = 40 homework grade
1 session complete = 20 homework grade
0 sessions complete = 0 homework grade
Classwork and Homework:
Students will have daily classwork and homework assignments. Students will check their assignments themselves and report their scores to me during independent work time. Reporting incorrect scores is a serious honor code violation and will result in an SCPS Disciplinary Notice and a referral to the principal or assistant principal. Honesty is of great importance. Classwork counts 2 times. Homework counts 1 time. Students will receive a parent letter with login and password so that they can access the math textbook and other resources online at www.pearsonsuccessnet.com.
Diagnostic Checkpoints:
Students will be given the diagnostic checkpoints in each chapter. Parents are welcome to go over the diagnostic checkpoints with their child in advance. These will count as quiz grades which counts 3 times.
Tests:
At the end of each chapter will be a test. Tests count 4 times. There may also be other quizzes and tests as needed to assess student progress.
Tutoring:
I will invite students who I see are finding a particular concept a challenge to weekly tutoring sessions.
