This quarter's reading challenge is to get 225 Reading Counts points by March 10th, the end of the third quarter. Getting 225 points by this date will put them on the right track for making it to the end of the year sleepover. For those who meet the challenge, I will be providing pizza for lunch. Austin, Morgan, Zadie, Molly, and Taylor have already met this challenge. I am so proud of them.
Our next field trip is to Oatland Island Education Center. It will be on Monday, February 7th. The programs is from 10:00 to 12:00. Students need to pack a sack lunch, drink (nothing carbonated), and a snack. We will be eating lunch there. They should wear their blue field trip t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. We will be outside much of the time, so bring a warm jacket if it is cold that day. Parents are welcome to join us but will need to pay the entrance fee. You are also welcome to take your child home after the program is over or after we eat lunch. Please let me know if you are going to do this so that I can have him/her back up and bring his/her bookbag on the bus.
Our Valentine's Day party will be February 14th. Please have your child bring a valentine for each child in class. They will pass them out and open them at the party. Here are the students' names; Morgan, Austin, Zadie, Leah, Harrison, Caitlyn, Chandler, Ashley, Steven, Kayla, John Henry, Molly, Jewell, Walker, Abby, Luke, Adison, Taylor, Nicholas, Cody, Sarah, and Jacob.
